Just returned from spending a very productive week in West bay attending a workshop led by Louise Balaam. Encouraged to make lots of studies and spontaneous paintings in oils. The group was small and worked well together it was an exciting and rewarding experience. Working in oils is very liberating Now I have to do some online shopping to replace the surprising amount of paint I used, the contrast with acrylics is startling, so different to use. Working with oils will be a major change, the colour is so much more intense. I am very excited to make this change in my work.
